Donald Doherty, a Pittsburgh historian, has authored the books “Images of Rail: Pittsburgh’s Inclines” and “Images of America: Pittsburgh’s Shadyside”. Donald is also a theoretical and computational neuroscientist and an entrepreneur.
Dr. Doherty has a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California, Irvine and a BS in Biology from San Diego State University. He has also held academic and research positions at Stanford University, Carnegie Mellon University, and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
When he isn’t hiking, climbing, or bicycling with his family, Donald also loves to write blog posts on science, technology, and history.
